Alan is a former HM Inspector of Taxes [Fully Trained] who moved into the accountancy profession as a tax manager and consultant before starting his own specialist tax investigations practice. He has handled about 30 major tax investigations and even more ‘local office’ enquiries, agreeing several multi-million pound settlements with HMRC. Alan is skilled at the preparation of the lengthy and complex Reports required in a COP 9 investigation, has an inventive approach to detailed technical points which can save tax, and has a strong track record of negotiating the maximum mitigation of penalties.

 

Alan is a Master of Business Administration (Financial Studies) [Distinction] degree from Nottingham University.
