Adrian Driver

Adrian Driver qualified as a solicitor in 1995 having graduated from Nottingham Trent University. He became a Duty Solicitor in 1996 and qualified as a Solicitor of the Higher Courts in 2010.
He is an extremely capable and thorough criminal advocate appearing regularly before the Courts in and around the Midlands and is well known for his ability to take cases 'all the way'!

'AB' and 'SB' V Nottingham City Council [2001] FLR, [2001]4 CCLR 295
This concerned the obligation of the Local Authority to assess children in need and their carers and the status of The Secretary of State's Framework guidance on that assessment.
R (SR) v Nottingham Magistrates Court [2001] EWHC Admin 802
This case involved the successful judicial review of a decision of the Magistrates Court to overturn a vulnerability decision regarding a youth on remand. This case also involved the High Court making a declaration on the compatability of the Human Rights Act 1998 in such situations.
R(SM) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2001] The Times 15th February 2002
This was a case that required an urgent application to the High Court to prevent a juvenile mother being separated from her new born child whilst in custody.
R V Kelso [2007]
Successful Appeal against conviction where represented by other solicitors at trial and convicted, this case was referred to the Court of Appeal who agreed to quash the conviction and remitted the case back for trial resulting in the Prosecution discontinuing the case.
R V Akarele [2007]
Successfully defended a motorist for an allegation of causing death by dangerous driving on one of the Midlands most notorious roads.
R V Brothers [2010]
The Defendant in this case was accused of causing death by dangerous driving. As junior advocate led by Mr Stuart Rafferty QC, and after a trial lasting nearly two weeks, they were able to secure the aquittal of a very relieved Defendant!
